It has been an exciting season for ACE!

Already in 2015, 43 participants received OSHA training, obtained Food Protection Certification, and/or participated in a 40-hour hands-on custodial maintenance training. Our March graduation ceremony celebrated the achievements of 28 men and women who secured full-time employment, and we have welcomed the addition of new classroom technology, compliments of the eBay Foundation!

In an ongoing effort to build on this momentum and enhance our programs, I wanted to inform you of some upcoming changes, effective Monday, April 20th:

  • Additional Intake Days: Intakes will be held at 11 am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will no longer holdTuesday afternoon intakes.
  • Higher Stipends: Participants will now earn $8.75 / hour for participation in ACE’s work experience component and $3.00 / hour for participation in educational courses. This will provide participants with increased funds to pursue vocational goals and instill the skills needed to responsibly manage a paycheck.
  • Increased Programming: ACE is decreasing work experience training to two days per week and adding a day of programming geared specifically toward excelling on the job search. Kensington Plaza crop
