This Week in Project Comeback

Elizabeth McNierneyHi Everybody. This week, I wanted to highlight some of the incredible ways YOU- the community and our volunteers- contribute directly to Project Comeback. Some ongoing opportunities to work one-on-one with clients include participating in mock interviews, teaching math, English, and computer classes, and facilitating workshops on special topics ranging from workplace skills to job-hunting strategies.

Recently, one of our committed volunteers, Dr. Khadijah Jean Pryce from Innovative Organization Solutions, presented a workshop to our clients on developing and balancing long-and-short term goals. During this session, clients worked together to outline concrete steps to reach their individual goals and set reasonable time lines within which to accomplish these steps. Dr. Pryce empowered our clients by helping them translate long-term hopes into achievable goals through the use of easy action-plans. For more information on Innovative Organization Solutions and its professional development workshops, visit their website here.

ACE is always thrilled to have members of the community participate in different aspects of Project Comeback, as each volunteer offers his or her own area of expertise, which enhances each client’s experience and learning while here. Enabling members of the community to participate in Project Comeback also provides our supporters with an inside look at how their efforts directly affect the lives of others. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact me at emcnierney@acenewyork.org. As always, we appreciate your continued support and generous contributions; they are instrumental in helping the men and women in Project Comeback achieve vocational success and establish self-sufficiency.
