Our crews sweep the streets and sidewalks of our service area twice a day, 362 days a year (every day but Christmas Day, New Years Day and Thanksgiving Day). While sweeping, we empty every garbage can on our routes, bagging trash and maintaining the receptacles themselves. Over the years, we have added 47 additional cans and three recycling units to the neighborhood to supplement those provided by the City.

On any given day, we have approximately 45 men and women working in lower Manhattan, supervised by two route supervisors and our Executive Director, Jim Martin.

What’s in it for me?
Your street will be among the cleanest in the city. Even if you already have someone sweeping for you, they don’t sweep the whole block—we do. With ACE, your neighbors’ trash will no longer dirty your storefront, and your tax-deductible membership donation not only shows your support for your community, it contributes to the important work we do breaking the cycle of homelessness in New York City.

We do everything we can to give back to the member businesses and buildings who have so generously supported our mission through the years. As a member of ACE, you will be featured on our website with an active link to your own. We also provide frequent opportunities for collaboration throughout the year to promote your business and show our gratitude for your contribution.

Sponsored Cans
Advertising opportunities are available on our deluxe receptacles. Take advantage of this inexpensive and innovative opportunity and see your company name and logo displayed on the street corner of your choice. The annual fee for can sponsorship is 100% tax-deductible and includes full membership.

Department of Sanitation
We do not pay sanitation tickets for our members. If you receive a ticket, let us know immediately. This will give us the opportunity to sweep the area as quickly as possible so the ticket will not be re-issued the following day. We cannot make guarantees, but the sooner we are made aware, the better chance we’ll have to fix the problem.

Special Services
Members of ACE are eligible to receive special services at a significantly discounted rate.

We offer everything from tree trimming and watering to graffiti removal, mass-clean up, window washing, packing, loading/unloading, painting, and inventory. If you need it done, chances are we can do it for you—and at a competitive rate.

Our services are available at a rate of $15 per hour ($30 for non-members) with the exception of window washing, which is billed depending on window size and frequency of service.

Snow and Ice Removal
We offer snow and ice removal at a rate of $30 per hour ($50 for non-members).

No more worries about getting to work and finding your business snowed in! Reserve a place on our standing order list and we’ll take care of the rest—7 days a week. Once about an inch of snow has accumulated, we will shovel and salt your storefront—and continue to do so throughout the day as the weather dictates. Once you’re on our list, the service is automatic; you’ll never have to call us to confirm!

*Businesses not on the standing list wishing to receive services will be shoveled on a first come, first serve basis.

Using our services gives our clients an extra opportunity to gain valuable work experience and build their resumes as they work to achieve their vocational goals and rebuild their lives. Your contribution is 100% tax-deductible.
