The amazing toys from our annual ACE toy drive, collected at locations like Tribeca Film Center, Sesame Place, Starbucks and Selima’s Optique, will make this holiday season very merry for the families of our program participants! We were able to assemble bags of goodies for 63 kids of all ages this year. Thank you to those who participated and donated gifts, and extra special thanks to ACE’s Database Manager Gwen Matos, who has coordinated our toy drive for the last two years.
ACE’s programming department hosted a fun-filled night at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium in Times Square last week, as part of Project Stay’s aftercare curriculum. Our group of 61 clients, staff and graduates roamed the halls of Ripley’s famous “Gallery of Bizarre, Amazing & Rare Treasures from Around the World,” including a huge collection of shrunken heads and a 3,000+ lb. meteorite. Project Stay field trips like this one help graduates stay connected to ACE, to the community and to each other. A good (and weird) time was had by all; thanks again to all the organizers and attendees!
This holiday season, Velita Boutique in SoHo is encouraging New Yorkers to SHOP for GOOD.
For the entire month of December, customers can chose among select NYC nonprofits to receive 10% of their gross transaction, and ACE is among the lucky beneficiaries. Visit Velita and tell them you want to support the hardworking men and women of ACE!
